Get to know Radio Hauraki Below:

Radio Hauraki is a popular rock music station among the residents New Zealand. In fact, it’s one of the oldest radio stations in New Zealand that officially kick-started its journey in the year of 1966. During that time, NZ witnessed a monopoly as the majority of radio market was captured by “New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation”. Thus, Radio Hauraki was the very first privately owned commercial radio station that invaded into the NZ market to break the monopoly.

In the initial days, this radio station mainly followed a format of mainstream rock music and classic rock music. Next, they changed their programming style and format in 2013; since then, the station is primarily playing the modern alternative music and the latest rock music of recent times! Currently, their official headquarters and studio offices are located in Auckland CBD.

A small group of journalists decided to begin a private venture (outside the confinement of NZ Government’s monopolistic departments); eventually, the team managed to get a license and since then, they are continuing their journey of providing a cracker Kiwi Radio station.
